The Mentally STRONG Method
Although we offer our signature service as an online course, we also use it at our mental health center in Colorado Springs. Our program teaches you the process to empower yourself. The cognitive piece includes a thought map, which helps you identify and organize your thoughts, and a behavioral piece that includes learning how to make choices that move you closer to your personal visions.
As part of our adult mental health services, board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioners are licensed to prescribe all medication in the psychopharmacology class, including, but not limited to, anti-depressants, anti-anxiety, anti-psychotics, mood stabilizers, ADHD medication for insomnia and more. Although we prescribe controlled substances, we are conservative in our prescribing practices. Our providers prescribe based on the research of Dr. Stephen Stahl and his Master Psychopharmacology Program using symptoms and receptors rather than clusters of symptoms.
We offer genetic testing at our mental health center in Colorado Springs. This service is covered by some insurance plans, and is a great starting point to determine how your body may process certain psychopharmacologic medications.
A prescription medicine, used along with anti-depressants, to treat adults with treatment-resistant depression (TRD) and depressive symptoms in adults with major depressive disorder (MDD), including suicidal thoughts or actions.
Our nurse practitioners can prescribe and administer various long-acting injectables for certain diagnoses, such as Schizophrenia and Bipolar I, which can help relieve the stress of needing to remember to take a pill every day.
Special Needs Populations
We are sensitive to and understanding of the special needs of individuals in our community.
Frequent Follow-Up Appointments
Our nurse practitioners understand that it can be intimidating to start a new treatment plan. We want our adult mental health services to be accessible to you during the stabilization period, and will see you at our mental health center in Colorado Springs as often as necessary until you are comfortable with your new medication.
Access to adult mental health services can be daunting and is a problem in this country. If you urgently need an assessment within business hours, please come to our mental health center, and we will be happy to make sure you’re seen.
