Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner

We are looking for one Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) to lead a team in the Mentally STRONG Medical Model. We are committed to access and quality in person care and as a Nurse Practitioner with our team you would also have the ability to be licensed if your personal vision is to own your own practice.

We are seeking Nurse Practitioners that are:

Licensed in Colorado with a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Certification

Must have or be able to obtain Prescriptive Authority

Medical Receptionist

Medical Receptionists are essential members of the Psychiatric Services Team. They collaborate with practitioners, nurses, and medical leadership to meet the clients’ needs. They schedule appointments and perform the intake functions for connecting patients into psychiatric services. They complete the necessary paperwork and follow up with timely communication to clients.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Registration and Revenue Cycle Management
  • Greeting and Checking in Patients
  • Collecting and Verifying accurate insurance information
  • Reviews charts to determine treatment and administrative priorities
  • Updates patient information accurately and timely in the electronic health record
  • Participates in team huddles
  • Supports clinic workflow as needed by rooming patients and completing all needed documentation
  • May perform patient vitals, to include pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, height and SPO2, and report any abnormality to nursing/provider staff.
  • Performs in-house CLIA waived testing when applicable. Completes quality controls as required.
  • Sends and follows up on patient referrals and lab orders
  • Assists in completing all incoming paperwork/forms using patient information from EHR. Forward to the appropriate provider anytime a medical or clinical decision must be made. Assures appropriate ROI is completed.
  • Monitor and maintain supply levels; ensure all expired supplies are regularly removed
  • Effectively, professionally and kindly communicate with patients, internal and external providers and documents all communication in medical records

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Strong customer service
  • Strong phone and communication skills
  • Must have sufficient language skills and be able to communicate both verbally and in writing to accurately and professionally implement and document the services provided to clients.
  • Possess basic computer navigation skills and type 25+ w.p.m. for the input and output of client information, using electronic records.
  • Excellent data entry skills are required.
  • Experience using various treatment modalities appropriate for specified populations, utilizing strength-based therapeutic approaches.
  • Experience working in a team environment with rapidly changing priorities.

Psychoeducational Counselor/Medical Assistant

Primary responsibility is to provide psycho-educational counseling with The Mentally STRONG Method.

 

Mentally STRONG is a comprehensive outpatient psychiatric practice that provides evaluation, diagnosis and treatment for mental health concerns. Treatment consists of medication management and psychoeducational teaching of a cognitive-behavioral approach called the Mentally STRONG Method. The Mentally STRONG Method empowers clients to identify and organize their thoughts and behaviors and challenges them to effect positive change for their future by developing a personal vision for sustainable, healthy mental strength.

 

45-minute time slots for counseling

Setting includes medication management.

 

Qualifications:

While a Bachelor’s degree is preferred, related personal or professional experience is acceptable for consideration.

Will consider Master’s students for paid internship

Willing to commit to continual self-growth

Works well in a team environment, collaborates with others to problem-solve.

Excellent communication skills with the ability to teach.

Clinical Duties (may include, but not limited to):

  • Providing psycho-educational counseling
  • Taking medical histories
  • Explaining treatment procedures to patients
  • Preparing patients for examinations
  • Assisting the physician during examinations
  • Collecting and preparing laboratory specimens
  • Performing basic laboratory tests
  • Instructing patients about medication and special diets
  • Preparing and administering medications, including by intramuscular, intradermal, and subcutaneous injections—including vaccinations/immunizations, as directed by a physician or other licensed provider (e.g., a nurse practitioner or physician assistant)
  • Transmitting prescription refills as directed
  • Phlebotomy
  • Taking electrocardiograms
  • Wound care and changing dressings

Administrative Duties (may include, but not limited to):

  • Using computer applications
  • Answering telephones
  • Welcoming patients
  • Updating and filing patient medical records
  • Coding and filling out insurance forms
  • Scheduling appointments
  • Arranging for hospital admissions and laboratory services
  • Handling correspondence, billing, and bookkeeping
Medical Assistant

Mentally STRONG in Colorado Springs, CO is looking for one medical assistant to join our 30 person strong team. We are located on 3720 Sinton Rd Suite 104. Our ideal candidate is a self-starter, punctual, and reliable.

Medical Assistants are an essential member of the Psychiatric Services Team. Collaborates with physicians/mid-levels, nurses, and medical leadership to meet the clients needs.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Supports clinic work flow as needed by rooming patients and completing all needed documentation
  • May perform patient vitals, to include pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, height and SPO2, and report any abnormal to nursing/provider staff.
  • Reviews charts to determine treatment and administrative priorities
  • Phlebotomy
  • EKG Administration
  • Long Acting Injectable Administration
  • Updates patient information accurately and timely in electronic health record
  • Sends and follows up on patient referrals and lab orders
  • Assists in completing all incoming paperwork/forms using patient information from EHR. Forward to appropriate provider anytime a medical or clinical decision must be made. Assures appropriate ROI is completed.
  • Monitor and maintain supply levels; ensure all expired supplies are regularly removed
  • Effectively, professionally and kindly communicate with patients, internal and external providers and documents all communication in medical records
  • Verify and maintain patient records
  • Set up and sanitize of exam rooms
  • Complete basic routine medical procedures
  • Provide consistent exceptional service
